We have been keeping a close eye on Hurricane Eta and have been preparing the common areas in the event we get high winds and rain our way. Although we are still unclear to what degree South Florida will be hit, we need to be prepared and are asking for all Residents to remove furniture and items from your balconies that could fly around in the event we get heavy winds. South Florida's east and west coasts are both under tropical storm watches alongside the Florida Keys; the east coast's watch extends from Jupiter Inlet southward, while the west coast's spans downward from Bonita Beach, the NHC said. The mayor of Miami-Dade County has declared a state of emergency, as the region continues to monitor Eta as it makes its way through the Caribbean Sea. Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced the state of emergency in a statement released Friday night. The slow-moving tropical depression is expected to regain tropical storm strength as it moves into the northwestern Caribbean Sea for the next few days, the NHC said. We have an increased risk for wind and rain in southern Florida over the weekend and into next week. As rain and high winds are predicted, Aria's pre-storm preparations for the anticipated arrival of Tropical Depression have been initiated. Some of the preparations consist of the removal of all furniture from the pool deck. Although we will not have pool furniture available, at this time the pool deck will remain operational until further notice. We take this time to remind all residents and owners that now is a good time to make sure you have all of your hurricane/storms supplies handy (i.e.: water, batteries, canned food, cash, flashlights, enough gas in your vehicles, and a hurricane plan in place in case an evacuation order is issued). Furthermore, please remember that the streets in the surrounding areas flood easily. Be on the lookout for flash flooding and avoid roads that may be too dangerous to drive through. Note: Be reminded that if you are not expecting to be home, make sure all items are removed from your balcony that could become airborne during high winds. Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe. |
