For lovers of great food, amazing drinks and plentiful sunshine, the place to be next month (February 19-23) is none other than South Beach, Miami for The Food Network & Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF). Each year, the festival welcomes some of the country’s finest chefs for five days’ worth of brunches, dinners, late-night parties and much more.
But with so much to bite, sip and savor, choosing which SOBEWFF events to attend can be a little on the overwhelming side. Even the festival’s founder and director, Lee Brian Schrager makes note of the “robust line-up.”
“We are pleased to unveil the robust line-up of events that make up our 2020 Festival program,” says Schrager. “Once again, fans have a diverse collection of more than 100 events showcasing esteemed culinary talent from around the world and premier wine and spirits selections to choose from.”
For the hungrily indecisive, the events below are a must if you’re attending this year’s SOBEWFF. And be sure to book your tickets soon, as most of the more intimate events sell out quickly.
Bootcamp & Bites
Today In: Lifestyle
If you don’t want to spend your entire paycheck sipping and noshing, SOBEWFF offers plenty of events under $100. Among them is the food and fitness-fueled Bootcamp & Bites (hosted by Robert Irvine). For $50, attendees will take part in a high-energy cardio session with Robert Irvine and will later enjoy bites and libations.
Daiquiris & Pastelitos Master Class
It’s not often that you come across a master class on something as delicious as daiquiris and pastelitos. And at $95, the Daiquiris & Pastelitos Master Class is another affordable option for those who don’t want to splurge. During this Master Class, presented by Havana Club, you’ll learn what goes behind making a perfect daiquiri and mouth-watering pastelitos.
Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village
Easily one of the most popular events at SOBEWFF, the Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village is nothing short of foodie heaven. This signature event “will continue to refresh and tantalize your taste buds with offerings from more than 50 restaurants and an array of wines and libations from Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.” Tickets to the village range in price from $191 to $275.
Tequila Cazadores Presents Tacos After Dark
From oysters to premium wines, there’s no shortage of fine dining available at SOBEWFF. But sometimes, a taco is all you need. For the taco-loving, tequila-sipping crowd there’s Tacos After Dark. Presented by Tequila Cazadores and hosted by actor/restaurateur Danny Trejo, the late-night soirée will feature tacos from over a dozen chefs and restaurants. There will also be plenty of refreshing cocktails from Tequila Cazadores on hand.
Oyster Bay Wines Present Oyster Bash
If you’ve ever dreamed of sampling oysters from across the country, SOBEWFF graciously provides the opportunity to do just that. At the festival’s Oyster Bash, an array of oysters will be fittingly paired with wines from Oyster Bay Wines.
